If you or a loved one suffers from back pain, you are no stranger to the fact that back pain can be a debilitating and stressful issue. Since so many movements and activities require use of your spine, back pain can affect your ability to work, exercise, or even move around comfortably. At South County Spine Care, the spine care center offering comprehensive care in Orange County, you will find that there are non-invasive options for long-term back pain relief.

Rather than turning to a general physician or resorting to back surgery, we encourage you to try one of our proven pain management methods. In fact, it is not uncommon for us to treat patients who have already gotten back surgery elsewhere, but are still experiencing pain in the same area or even experiencing new pain after not healing correctly.

Causes of Back Pain

There are several different causes of back pain, and some of them can be difficult to pinpoint. Some of the more obvious causes of back pain include injuries from accidents, falls, or other types of trauma, along with pulled muscles. This kind of back pain is often referred to as acute pain, because it is temporary. However, if not managed, this type of pain can become chronic. Conditions such as degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, and herniated discs can cause chronic back pain. Nerves in your spinal cord can become pinched, resulting in severe pain. Osteoarthritis can result in back pain, and cancer is known to cause back pain – either from tumors pressing on nerves or from the side effects of cancer treatments. Part of the treatment you receive at the spine care center will be to pinpoint the cause of your back pain.

Back Pain Treatments

Although there are many different ways to go about treating back pain, like surgery, South County Spine Care prefers to go the non-invasive route whenever possible. Our methods for relieving back pain include chiropractic care, which uses manipulation over the skin to relieve pressure on the spine. We also utilize non-surgical disc decompression, which relies on the use of a special decompression table. The table works by creating a vacuum that relieves pressure on the discs. Another one of our pain relief methods is light therapy, which uses heat and infrared lights to increasing blood flow to targeted areas. The result is less pain and achiness.

Since there are so many possible methods of pain relief at the spine care center, we encourage you to come in for a consultation to learn about how we can help you in the best possible way.
